The Team
John Church: Team Owner
Began racing FF in 1988 at the regional and national SCCA levels. Graduated with a Liberal Arts Degree in Management and Finance in 1992. Attended the SCCA Runoffs in FF in 1993 and started professional racing career in the SCCA Pro Racing F2000 Championship in 1994. Formed JDC MotorSports in 1994 to serve the F2000 community with at track service and F2000 lease programs. Managed the Team KOOL Green Champcar Hospitality program for Brown & Williamson Tobacco from 1996-2002. Moved to the Zetec powered F2000 cars in 2002 and started the Star Mazda program in 2005. JDC MotorSports captured the 2007 Star Mazda Championship with Dane Cameron. In 2008, JDC was runner-up with Joel Miller.
Rick Cameron: Engineer
Rick Cameron returns to JDC Motorsport in 2009 bringing over 25years of motor racing experience with him. He has been responsible for engineering 3 of the last 4 Star Mazda Championship winning programs. Michael Mc Dowell, Rafael Matos and 2007 Champion Dane Cameron have all walked away with the Lion’s share of race wins and prize money from Championship winning seasons under Rick’s guidance.
Rick was also responsible for engineering the last four years of the Lynx Racing Atlantic program from 2000 until 2004. Working with Drivers Dave Rutledge, Michael Valiante and Brian Sellers. Finishing in the top 3 in 4 of those championships as well as 2 prior championships in 1996 and 1997 as assistant engineer to Jim Griffith. He also received 2 engineer of the year awards while in the Formula Atlantic Series making him a sure pick winner for JDC Motorsports.
Dave Hopple: Lead Mechanic
Dave started going to the races at Brainerd International Raceway with his father at the age of seven and was instantly hooked on racing.
They began their own racing program in 1980 with his father driving a SCCA production car. Dave began his own racing career in the mid-eighties racing karts and from there he moved up to the SCCA Formula Ford class winning various regional championships, national wins and qualifying for the SCCA championship Runoff’s in 2000.
Dave has been working with JDC Motorsports since 1994 and was lead mechanic on Jason Bowles 2004 Cooper Zetec Rookie of the Year effort.
Barry Mumm: Data Analysis
A racing veteran — starting with oval track midgets in the 60′s — Mumm has had success in auto racing for over 40 years. Mumm is recognized as the leading technical expert on the Sports Car Club of America’s Spec Racer Ford (SRF) race car, with accomplishments including the SCCA Showcase Series championship, Central Division SCCA Championship, as well as finishing in the top 3 in the 1995, 1996 and 1997 SRF Pro Series.
Having campaigned cars in SCCA’s World Challenge and IMSA’s “Lites” Series, Mumm’s cars hold the qualifying or race records at: Watkins Glen, St. Petersburg, Mid-Ohio, Heartland Park, Pikes Peak, Reno, Minneapolis, and Gradn Rapids. During his career, Mumm has achieved over 25 racing wins in SCCA and IMSA competition and was 2006 IMSA Lites Champion.
Mumm, a graduate from the University of Wisconsin with graduate work at the University of Southern California, is the holder os 3 U.S. patents and the proprietor of Autostuff Inc., a manufacturer of custom products for road racing cars and publisher of car specific software.

Involved in formula car racing since its inception in 1994, JDC MotorSports has established itself as one of the leading junior open-wheel teams in North America. Initially making its mark in the F2000 class of club racing competition, JDC MotorSports was soon a team worth watching in the pro ranks.
Competing in the Formula Ford 2000 Zetec Championship, the team not only won races, but also helped develop multiple young drivers. In 2005, JDC MotorSports expanded its efforts, entering the Star Mazda Championship. Quickly becoming one of the top teams in the series, JDC captured both the driver and team titles in 2007, as well as Rookie of the Year honors, with Dane Cameron scoring a series-high three wins.
This past season, JDC MotorSports was the runner-up in the Star Mazda Championship and finished fourth in its inaugural season F2000 Championship Series competition.
