Profile: Adam Christodoulou

Adam’s racing career began at the tender age of eight when he started karting and it soon became apparent that he had a natural talent for racing. He went on to win the British Karting Championship four times in succession, the highlight being when he finished second at the 2005 World Karting Championships.

During his first season in cars in 2007 Adam blitzed the competition and won the Formula Renault UK Graduate Cup. He also finished fourth overall in the main Championship that has fielded many of today’s F1 stars including current World Champion, Kimi Raikkonen, and Britain’s Lewis Hamilton.

In 2008 Adam’s target is to win the Formula Renault UK Championship outright. He is well on his way to achieving that goal.

British Racing Drivers’ Club

In June 2007 Adam became a member of the exclusive invite only BRDC Rising star program.

Former Formula 1 World Champion Damon Hill is the president of the BRDC who recognise the most outstanding talent emerging from the UK every year.

The BRDC identified Adam’s talent at the beginning of the 2007 season and were not wrong when he finished 4th and won the Graduate Cup in Formula Renault UK Championship.

Formula Renault 2008

Formula Renault UK is the most successful in Europe when it comes to producing Formula 1 drivers and one of Britains best proving grounds for ambitious young racers working their way up the single-seater ladder. Former Champions include Kimi Raikkonen (2000) and Lewis Hamilton (2003), while Heikki Kovalainen also competed in the Championship in 2001.

The Championship is contested over 20 rounds, with two races held at 10 events. Aside from the British touring car championship the one remaining round is with the World series Renault, guaranteeing the biggest UK raceday crowds at the country’s leading circuits and live television coverage on ITV4.
